12 points to consider before buying an armored vehicle

Confirm that the armorer has real-life installations. Visit it or request photos, an address, and a virtual tour. Make sure it has a clear digital presence. Request a test drive in a new unit and another at least five years old to evaluate its performance and durability.

Verify the company's longevity and continuous production capacity. Confirm its track record, experience with international certifications, and armored vehicle exports.
3.
Check if they offer a bumper-to-bumper mechanical warranty policy for the vehicle, which is included in your quote, for 2 years or 40,000 km. Also, request that your policy include a 10-year warranty on opaque ballistic materials (body armor), and a 4-year warranty on transparent materials (windows).
4.
Find out about their monthly production volume to assess their operational experience and responsiveness. Check if they offer immediate delivery.
5.
Ask how they protect your information and make sure they have clear confidentiality and document security policies.
6.
Learn about the company's technical staff. Quality armor requires engineers specialized in ballistic design and ballistic material fastening, as well as technicians trained in modern systems such as fiber optics and hybrid powertrains.

Request VPAM BRV standard certifications for complete vehicles, in the name of the armored vehicle manufacturer. Unlike a simple test tube, this certification validates the actual performance of the armored vehicle, considering engineering, assembly, adhesives, and labor. Don't put your safety at risk of partial testing.
8.
Request that the ISO 9001:2015 quality certificate be valid and directly linked to the armoring processes. Verify that the company is actively registered with the National Security Commission (CNS), which is mandatory for armoring companies in Mexico.

Ensure ballistic materials have current certifications issued by independent, international laboratories. Both opaque materials (steel or aramid) and glass must be backed by formal ballistic testing. Avoid materials with expired certifications, those issued by the same manufacturer, or those with no real traceability.

Make sure the level of armor meets your actual security needs, not a generic recommendation.

They will offer you a vehicle certificate and provide you with a document confirming your purchase (Letter of Authenticity from the National Automobile Insurance Corporation).

Ask if the quote includes theoretical training on the correct use of armored vehicles: their handling, limitations, and operating recommendations.
